Oxsana’s Priorities
Putting students and families first.
Oxsana is focused on what matters most for Brentwood schools: stronger academic outcomes, responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars, meaningful parent involvement, and supporting the teachers who make our schools work.
Meet Oxsana01
Priority One
Student achievement first — especially math.
“The board's first job is whether kids can read, write, and do math at grade level. That comes before everything else.”
Oxsana Pajoluk
Student achievement must remain the district’s first priority. Families expect Brentwood schools to give every student the foundation they need to succeed, beginning with strong reading, writing, and math skills.
Academic performance — particularly in mathematics — needs continued attention and measurable improvement.
Oxsana believes School Board decisions should always begin with a simple question: Will this help our students learn and succeed?
When debates become distracted by outside political or cultural fights, Oxsana will bring the conversation back to the fundamental responsibility of our schools: educating Brentwood’s students.
Academics
first.
“We cannot spend more than we take in. I will look at every dollar and put classrooms ahead of everything that is not classrooms.”
Oxsana Pajoluk
Brentwood schools face real financial challenges. The district receives relatively low per-student funding compared with neighboring districts, reserves have reached historically low levels, enrollment is softening, additional budget reductions may be necessary, and voters are being asked to consider significant investments in school facilities.
Oxsana brings the perspective of a business owner who understands that responsible budgeting means making difficult choices before financial problems become crises. Her approach is straightforward: protect the classroom first.
That means examining spending carefully, prioritizing resources that directly benefit students and teachers, maintaining responsible reserves, and planning for the possibility of continued enrollment decline.

Priority Two
Every dollar should serve our students.
For major investments & bond-funded projects, taxpayers deserve
- Clear project lists
- Voters should know exactly what they are being asked to fund.
- Strong oversight
- Independent eyes on every major dollar spent.
- Transparent spending
- Budgets and reports people can actually read.
- Long-term financial planning
- Decisions that hold up five and ten years from now.
03
Priority Three
Parents deserve notice, review & a voice.
“Parents should never be surprised. I will push for clear notice, easy review of materials, and a real opt-out where the law allows it.”
Oxsana Pajoluk
Parents are not outsiders to their children’s education. They are essential partners. Oxsana believes families deserve clear communication about what is happening in their children’s schools and meaningful opportunities to participate.
- Clear noticeParents should receive understandable and timely information.
- Easy reviewCurriculum and instructional materials should be accessible for parents to review.
- Meaningful inputFamilies should have genuine opportunities to communicate concerns and provide feedback.
- Choice where permittedWhere California law allows an opt-out or parental choice, the district should make that process understandable and accessible.
Parents as partners.
Not afterthoughts.
“Good teachers are why the district works. A broke district cannot keep them. Respect means a fair contract and a budget that does not collapse in two years.”
Oxsana Pajoluk
Brentwood’s teachers are at the center of student success. Supporting educators and maintaining responsible finances are not competing goals — they depend on each other.
Oxsana believes teachers deserve respect, competitive and sustainable compensation, and a district that can keep its commitments for years to come. Short-term promises mean little if they create long-term financial instability.
A financially healthy district is better positioned to retain great educators, protect classroom resources, and provide students with consistency.
04
Priority Four
Strong schools need great teachers.
The goal — both
A fair deal for teachers.
And at the same time
A sustainable deal for Brentwood.
